I am so excited to finally write a review for Rock Burger. It has been on my “must try” list for a while now. This week, I was lucky enough to try it out all g with my mom and son. This grub will go down as one of the best in Niagara falls in my book!
The photo displayed above hangs nostalgically inside the door of Rock Burger. It elegantly shows the owner’s pride of where he began. The original location of Rock Burger was attached to a local city bar, Players at 328 Niagara St. #2 Niagara Falls, NY 14303. Today, they have moved more “in town” and opened up at 8529 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
The atmosphere at Rock Burger
As you can tell from the pictures, my family and I were the only customers at the time but it was early in the afternoon. Honestly, I was glad to have the one on one with the owner and staff, as well as a pleasant lunch experience for my family.
The restaurant is decorated with Niagara Falls pride, to say the least! In addition to the black and white photo of “where it all began” you will also see a variety of other Niagara falls locations pictured in black and white throughout the establishment.
The most eye-catching piece is a full wall scaled collage of black and white Niagara falls photos along one of the back walls in the restaurant. (Pictured below)
The staff at Rock Burger are kind and knowledgeable. The owner was very considerate and pleasant as he brought our menus and offered a high chair for my son. He also offered my son a special Juice Shoot drink, which of course my son loved! Based on the experience with the staff alone, I would happily return, but the experience got even better once the food came out!
The food at Rock Burger
Pictured below are the two sides of the menu at Rock Burger. I have been wanting to try this place for such a long time because they advertise themselves as being the “home of the stuffed burger”! Who wouldn’t want to try a stuffed burger? I was already excited for a stuffed burger, but then I had the grueling task of choosing one! I was also pleasantly surprised by the various other menu options that one can choose from should they not wish to order a stuffed burger (although those people might be crazy).
Rock Burger offers something for everyone, including children, risk-takers (who may want to give the Rock Mountain challenge a try, or, if you prefer to put your own spin on a stuffed burger, you can design your own!
My mom, crazy as she is, didn’t order a stuffed burger. She chose the Rainbow Mushroom mini burger and a side of onion rings. This burger patty was topped with grilled mushrooms, A-1 sauce, cheese, and fried onions. It may not have been stuffed, but it was delicious! She was elated that the A-1 sauce was added as a boost of flavor rather than an overpowering force. The onion rings were cooked perfectly! They were tender on the inside, crispy and flavorful on the outside and best of all, they weren’t greasy! Double thumbs up for this dish! (pictured below)
I could not pass up the chance to try one of Rock Burger’s famous stuffed burgers. But, the hard part was choosing only one! Ultimately, I went with the first one to jump off the page and hit me in the face, The Tater Tot Rock mini burger which I paired with plain French fries. This burger patty was stuffed with cheese and tater tots. Then, the burger was topped with more cheese, bbq sauce, Bison chip dip, and bacon! Holy flavor town in my mouth! Outstanding! The French fries were cooked just beautifully! I don’t know how they don’t but they managed to make the fries golden and crispy on the outside, tender on the inside but no grease to be found! (pictured below)
My two-year-old son wanted a hotdog kids meal with french fries which he ultimately had boxed up and brought home for another meal.
My final recommendation
Go to Rock Burger today! You will not be disappointed! I have personally deemed this restaurant as my burger joint and I have no interest in looking for another one!
