Wegmans is a local grocery store that is well-known and well-loved in my neck of the woods. They began in Rochester, NY in 1916. They have since grown dramatically with more than 100 stores spanning at least seven states.
They are highly regarded for their produce selection, organic items, food allergy items, and their prepared food section. My husband and I are big fans of shopping with Wegmans and we also love grabbing a bite to eat at their buffet. Recently, Wegmans began offering delivery for their prepared foods from a special Wegmans: Meals To Go app! This would prove to be a total game-changer for us!
Oh, my sweet tomato pie!
Wegmans offers a wonderful selection of authentic Italian style pizzas. The following pizzas can be made to order by the Wegmans team with a regular dough crust or even a veggie crust!
- Cheese
- Pepperoni
- Margherita
- Pesto, tomato, and spinach
- Caramelized onion and applewood bacon
- Mushrooms and truffle
- White cheese and roasted garlic
- Buffalo chicken
Wegmans also allows its customers to design their own pizza! Currently, they are running a “build your own two-topping large pizza” deal where you can choose two toppings, the sauce, and the cheese! In the past, we took advantage of this incredible deal! We chose a bacon and spinach pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese and a Parmesan cheese cream sauce, a buffalo chicken and got banana pepper pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese cream sauce, as well as a roasted gourmet mushroom and spicy bowl pepperoni pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese and a Parmesan cheese cream sauce. Today, my husband chose a Buffalo chicken pizza with shredded mozzarella cheese (instead of fresh) and tomato sauce (instead of the parmesan cheese cream sauce).
Of course, I had to have a bite of this beauty in order for me to properly review it. Now, we had fallen in love with the dough each time we ordered their pizza. It truly is one of the very best pizza doughs that I have ever had! In fact, the one bite of this pizza quickly turned into an entire slice!
The pizza was an impressive blend of classic, crisp and flavorful pizza dough with the twist of spicy, Buffalo chicken toppings. In fact, each of the pizzas we have ordered from Wegmans has left us completely in awe of flavor and quality!
Trying something new!
Long before Wegmans began offering delivery, they were well known for their variety of prepared foods which consisted of pizza, Chinese, Italian, and subs! I have heard incredible things about the subs made by Wegmans for years but had never tried them for myself. Until now! Today, instead of ordering another incredible pizza, I decided to order a large Lemon Garlic grilled chicken breast sub with organic greens, onions, and mayo all on a wheat roll! The sub was well made with fresh, crisp, flavorful ingredients. Each of which was carefully chosen and put together to make a clean and delicious sub!
Wegmans also offers other subs including turkey, assorted, meatball parmesan, chicken tender, and even a cheese sub! You may also wish to design your own sub which is an additional option. Not a sub person? You can also build your own wrap as well!
