Broadway pizza review

As a restaurant reviewer, I must say that it is difficult to judge a particular establishment based solely on food and delivery service. Due to the coronavirus, we are unable to go out to restaurants for a meal, but luckily some restraints are continuing to do business with delivery and take out orders. Broadway pizza is one of the only restaurants that remain open in my area.

As a concerned citizen living in these uncertain times, I have to send a huge ”thank you” to every worker worldwide who continues to put your lives on the line to provide services to those staying home. So, thank you!

I would normally begin my review by discussing the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, moving on to discussions involving the staff, prices, and of course, the food. This review will be slightly different.

The delivery service from Broadway Pizza

Delivery from Broadway Pizza was efficient and appreciated. First, it was nice that we were able to place our order online. When you have a two-year-old running around it’s hard to have a phone conversation, so I highly recommend online ordering. We ordered a simple cheese NY Style pizza at 5:34 pm. The confirmation email stated that our order would come by 6:34 pm and it did! So, that was definitely a nice aspect of ordering with Broadway Pizza. Our delivery driver was friendly and on time.

The food from Broadway Pizza

The main focus of any restaurant is the food (although the cleanliness, prices, and friendliness of the staff are also very important). As previously mentioned, we ordered the NY Style house pie pizza with just cheese as a topping. We like a simple cheese pizza once in a while, makes ordering easier. Though, Broadway Pizza does have a long list of ingredients that can be added (for a fee) as additional toppings.

The ”house pie” size option seems to be the largest they offer and ordering for a family we generally look for the largest size pizza any place offers. I have to admit that I was disappointed with the size of the pizza based solely on the price. The pie seemed only slightly larger than the typical 16-inch large pizza. When compared to a simple cheese pizza from our regular pizza restaurant, we paid the same total cost for roughly half the size.

Now, the size of the pizza pie and the total price we paid aside, the taste was quite good. For those of you not familiar with a NY Style pizza, it is basically a giant slice of thin-crust pizza. Now, I am not underscoring how delicious it is by any means. This is a popular style of pizza for a reason and the one we ordered from Broadway Pizza was also quite delicious.

I actually don’t know how many toppings would be appropriate for it because I was so delicious on its own. The sauce had perfect flavor and acidity without being sweet, which is generally a turnoff for me when it comes to pizza. The cheese was perfectly melted and golden brown without being overcooked and unappealing. The crust was perfectly crispy, done, and flavorful. The pizza as a whole was completely proportioned and layered, crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and melted cheese.

While the delivery service and pizza we’re both quite good (especially considering these difficult times) I have to admit that the prices at Broadway Pizza are higher than my family can normally afford which can be a turn off for patrons in our area with similar incomes. Overall, I think we would order from Broadway Pizza again when craving pizza in a pinch.
